Workers Compensation Insurance FAQ

  1. What is workers' compensation insurance?

    It is for both employees and employers.

    For on-the-job injuries, it guarantees medical coverage and compensation for lost earnings for employees, whereas employers are protected against most lawsuits.

  2. What is the difference between WC Insurance and Disability?

    1) WC Insurance is for work-related illness or injuries, and covers for medical benefits and lost wages.

    2) While, Disability covers for cash payments only for off the job injury or illness (not work-related), for maximum of 26 weeks.

  3. Is Pregnancy or maternity leave covered under Disability?

    Yes, it is entitled up to 26 weeks of benefits.

  4. Penalty for not having insurance coverage of WC or Disability

    Penalties collected, will be used as Uninsured Employers Fund, to cover injured workers, working for uninsured employers.
